Convinced that children embody the future, I used elements of design to create organic compositions for my High School AP Portfolio concentration. Focusing on facial features and hand expressions, the babies portray rich simplicity, naivety, and contagious happiness, ultimately carrying a futuristic view of joy and optimism. There is a clear progress in the focus of the pieces as the sequence avances. First, I started with a very basic fading of colors as we lay eyes in an oriental girl joining her hands. Subsequently, the backgrounds gain meaningful relationships with the protagonist of the work. Finally, as seen in the final two pieces, the background fully engage within the children as the elements break through their skin. It resulted very interesting to see the divergency of physicals traits tied up in humble pleasure.
